The Syntax Lab Has Been Very Busy

The Syntax Lab has had a busy spring of conferences. Jitka Bartošová, Cassandra Chapman, Heather Stephens and Dr. Ivona Kučerová delivered talks at the annual meeting of the Canadian Linguistics Association in May in Calgary. In April, Cassandra Chapman also gave a talk at MOTH, the graduate syntax workshop, where Dr. Kučerová delivered the keynote address. In addition, Dr. Kučerová gave a talk at the annual meeting of the Formal Approaches to Slavic Languages at Cornell University, an invited talk at the New York University, and a positional paper at a workshop on NP structure at the Olomouc Linguistics Colloquium. The lab is busy over the summer as well. While working on their theses, Jitka Bartošová and Cassandra Chapman are getting ready for AMLaP which will be held in Bilbao, Spain in September with poster presentations co-authored by Dr. Elisabet Service and Dr. Ivona Kučerová of McMaster and Dr. Martin Hackl of MIT.
