- McMaster student won first prize in the advanced category at the Ontario Japanese Speech Contest
Sonomi Iwata-Consul is pleased to announce that Ifrah Saeed, a McMaster student, won first prize in the advanced category and the Shinkikai-Sagamihara City Prize, which is awarded to the student who can contribute to improve the Japan-Canada relationship through friendship and understanding.
This prize is awarded to the student who excels in Japanese language study. The Shinkikai is the Association of Japanese Canadian Businesses and Professionals, and is located in Toronto which is a sister city of Sagamihara, Japan.
Ifrah is now officially invited to the city of Sagamihara in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan, and she will visit schools and companies as a Canadian student ambassador.
In addition, Ifrah will participate in the 31st Canada National Japanese Speech Contest which will be held in the Japan Foundation in Toronto on March 29th, 2020.
